Shelf-life of Zionism
by Maxwell D.
February 09, 2010 02:02 PM EST | comments: 1 Zionism has a shelf-life because it is based on evil for evil. Which has nothing to do with a loving God. Historically Jews had been ran out of the Middle-east; perhaps because they were trouble makers . . . more

Oak Garden Furniture
by Owen J.

![]() Welcome to the Writing Essential (WE), the only Essential that is solely member run by a stable of different and talented Gather members who are here to help you create seven great days of writing. The Writing Essential was created as a home for Gather writers to congregate and publish their work and receive constructive criticism, as well as to share their experiences and ask questions about the craft of writing. Let me introduce you to the Member Editors: Sunday--Ron Hall Ron is a yard sale wiz and publishes "Would You Buy This Or Not" series. He is a devout NPR and MPR fan who has open topic Sundays. Monday - Greg Schiller is a civil servant by day and a servant to an uncivil cat by night. Whenever possible, he flees to his home in the woods, outside the little Minnesota town of Almost Iowa. His hobbies include juggling chain-saws and writing humor. Tuesday--Xtabber has been a Gather member since 2005!. His work has been published in a creative writing and arts journal and he is working on a novel. X prefers fiction, but dabbles in poetry and essays as well. An avid motorcyclist, X can often be found winding the lovely back roads of Missouri and Illinois. Wednesday--Susan Budig writes for local Minnesota newspapers on topics of music, arts, human interest, and health. One of her true loves is poetry, which she teaches in community ed. She'll sprinkle Wednesday's WE with writing techniques, prompts, and challenges for both prose and poetry fans. Thursday--Kimberly Ripley Kim is a professional freelancer and writes a column "Freelancing for Profit." Her WE Thursdays have rotating topics. Friday--Nancy Luckhurst Nancy is a freelance editor who has rotating topics for her Friday's from telling your life story to an open ended group story thread. Saturday-- Atticus*Atticus is a visual artist, but he has come to love writing, particularly but not exclusively poetry, for its fluidity of expression, direct access and inexhaustible well of creative potential. The sky is the limit for Saturday on Gather Writing Essentials. Topics and prompts will vary on an evolving basis. Now that you have met our great group of Member Editors, I encourage you to participate. The Writing Essential is a great place to connect with other writers and to give and receive constructive criticism. Best, MaryAnne Recent Photos

My friend, Barbara Briggs here on Gather has just completed a great story. It is of the Indian culture and she is in desparate need for help with the story editing. If anyone of you editors could spend a short time to assist her, she would greatly appreciate it. Are we not here to assist one another? Please help if you can. Thank You Jay Miller God will reward you for your eforts.

I'd like to post a summary or maybe the intro of a story I was working on for NaNoWriMo, that I'm considering completing, editing and pitching to a few publishers. I'd like to get some constructive feedback about this fiction-mystery. Where, how can I post this here? thanks!

Welcome Gather writers to the Writing Essential! The Writing Essential was created as a home for Gather writers of all levels, from beginners to advanced writers, to congregate and publish their work and receive constructive criticism, as well as to share their experiences and ask questions about the craft of writing. This Essential will host a dynamic and ever changing array of content and is unique from any other Essential on the site. Why? Because it is run by Gather members!
Each day, a different Gather member Writing Essentials Editor will moderate the group and feature work based on quality of writing and possibly a theme that the Editor has chosen. Our Member Editors come from diverse writing backgrounds, so one day you may find poetry as the feature theme. Another day, it might be personal memoirs. And the next day, it might be a mix of the best writing across all genres. Please keep in mind that up to three pieces of content submitted by a member may be accepted on any given day. The intent of the group is to have a variety of content from a variety of members at any given time. The Writing Essential is a place for you to find familiar faces and discover new talent and friends with the same passion. We encourage you to publish your works of fiction (poetry, prose, plays, screenplays) and nonfiction (memoirs, interviews with other writers and published authors, and questions about the craft of writing and the pursuit of publishing). We look forward to reading your work and hearing about your experiences as a writer. Group Links
